The multidisciplinary Poliedro Index research was developed with the aim to determine the quality and sustainability of typical piedmontese food products using a multicriteria index. The research developed a model to evaluate (and self-evaluate) the product, and the producing company, based on environmental, social and economic considerations. Our research unit worked on the food packaging field, convinced that, through the evaluation, it is possible to improve the environmental performance of a product and encourage design and marketing to highlight its intangible values (its typical and regional characteristics at first), improve its comprehensibility and usability in order to prompt more informed purchase and consumption.

Abstract
