We demonstrate that the traffic capacity of legacy DWDM reconfigurable networks can be boosted thanks to the Nyquist-WDM technique and PM-64QAM modulation format. To this end, dual carrier and single carrier channels with raw transmission bit rate spanning from 224 Cb/s to 600 Cb/s have been generated by means of fast DAC and electrical digital filtering.
