An integrated injection–locked DBR laser has been studied. Design maps have been computed and dynamic simulations have been done to confirm the design results. The comparison of the obtained results with those of a typical external injection–locked lasers, where the master and the slave lasers are separated by an optical insulator, show that these integrated structures behave like composed cavity lasers and not as external injection–locked lasers.
