The research paper aims to be an ecodesign tool, intended for professionals, who want to design in connection with the territory. The tool is based on two methodologies: Component Design (Bistagnigno, 2008) and Systemic Design (Bistagnigno, 2011), which were developed within the Department of Architecture and Design at the Politecnico di Torino. Starting from this background, another key aspect is an exhaustive data collection of the geographical areas examined. The focus is set on territorial, climatic and social aspects, including cultural and architectural issues. This design tool is defined by the identification of guidelines, which are supported by two examples that focus on design related to territory. The pilot study was developed during the Master's Thesis in Ecodesign and aimed to design the whole network of household appliances, for specific geographical areas that share remarkable similarities. In the second case study, guidelines were applied to interior finishes, designed for a company that produces roofs for Northern Italy, VASS Technologies Ltd.
