New hierarchical basis functions are proposed for triangular cells with corner singularities. These functions are of the additive kind, and combine a traditional polynomial-complete scalar or a mixed-order vector representation on triangles with additional singular terms that incorporate general exponents that may be adjusted for the specific wedge angle of interest. The functions are described, and the matrix condition numbers arising from their use are investigated.

Abstract
New hierarchical basis functions are proposed for triangular cells with corner singularities. These functions are of the additive kind, and combine a traditional polynomial-complete scalar or a mixed-order vector representation on triangles with additional singular terms that incorporate general exponents that may be adjusted for the specific wedge angle of interest. The functions are described, and the matrix condition numbers arising from their use are investigated.Pubblicazioni consigliate
