In this paper, a novel spoofing detection technique based on a multipath estimation architecture, is described. The Coupled Amplitude Delay Locked Loop (CADLL) was originally designed as a pure multipath estimation and mitigation architecture. However, its ability to accurately estimate the features of multipath rays and their evolution in time, allows using it to detect spoofing signals present in the operating scenario. The results in terms of spoofing detection in a real signal scenario are presented. The multipath estimation results in a real urban scenario are also presented.

Abstract

In this paper, a novel spoofing detection technique based on a multipath estimation architecture, is described. The Coupled Amplitude Delay Locked Loop (CADLL) was originally designed as a pure multipath estimation and mitigation architecture. However, its ability to accurately estimate the features of multipath rays and their evolution in time, allows using it to detect spoofing signals present in the operating scenario. The results in terms of spoofing detection in a real signal scenario are presented. The multipath estimation results in a real urban scenario are also presented.
