An investigation is described, aimed at estimating effects of several factors on measurement uncertainty within an industrial environment. The case study concerns mainly tolerance verification on a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) of a rather complex part. Obtained results highlight the importance of probe qualification in the case at hand, and show how substantial savings in cycle time may be obtained.

Abstract
An investigation is described, aimed at estimating effects of several factors on measurement uncertainty within an industrial environment. The case study concerns mainly tolerance verification on a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) of a rather complex part. Obtained results highlight the importance of probe qualification in the case at hand, and show how substantial savings in cycle time may be obtained.Pubblicazioni consigliate
