This contribution deals with the validation of a part of ROSA ROSSA “Extended version” VE Software for processing of Radio Occultation RO data observed by the Italian ROSA receiver onboard OCEANSAT-2. Unlike the first release of the RO software named ROSA-ROSSA “Base Version” VB, where a geometric optics approach was used for processing RO data, in the ROSA-ROSSA VE the Full Spectrum inversion technique was used for solving multipath problems which can occur in the lower troposphere. FSI turned to be a good solution for processing occultation events and retrieval atmospheric parameters mainly for near tropical zones, where moisture is more predominant factor. Preliminary results are given and a statistical analysis was performed using occultation data observed by other RO missions.

Abstract
Preliminary results are given and a statistical analysis was performed using occultation data observed by other RO missions.Pubblicazioni consigliate
