The paper points out the performance of a permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance (PMASR) motor, filled with anisotropic plasto-ferrite. A model to evaluate the contribution of PM to the total torque is presented and the results are compared with the performance of the basic synchronous (SyR) reluctance motor, utilizing the same rotor lamination. The maximum power vs. speed characteristics of these two motors are then analyzed, showing the strong impact of the ferrite injection on the resulting constant power speed range and needed inverter size

Abstract
The paper points out the performance of a permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance (PMASR) motor, filled with anisotropic plasto-ferrite. A model to evaluate the contribution of PM to the total torque is presented and the results are compared with the performance of the basic synchronous (SyR) reluctance motor, utilizing the same rotor lamination. The maximum power vs. speed characteristics of these two motors are then analyzed, showing the strong impact of the ferrite injection on the resulting constant power speed range and needed inverter sizePubblicazioni consigliate
