Nowadays there is an increasing interest and development on environmental product labels and declarations in the building sector. In order to match manufactures and architects needing the DINSE’s research team of Politecnico di Torino - thanks to the activities carried out by its Building Environmental Assessment Interuniversity Centre - has developed a label and a declaration called “Dichiar_A”, basically consistent with Life Cycle Assessment methodology (according to ISO 14040 and ISO 14025) and to Eco audit procedures (according to ISO 19011). The paper deals with the methodological approach implemented the differences among the currently available ecological labels and the applications carried out until 2009. The outcomes gathered are encouraging in regard with the possibility of a broadly diffusion in the next future.
