A new algorithm which minimizes the number of calibration measurements for a full two-port error correction of an Automatic Network Analyzer is presented. Since a reduced number of standard connections is required compared to that of other well known calibration techniques, the procedure allows saving time and standard elements. Experimental comparisons carried out with other calibration techniques also prove that a slight better accuracy can be reached using the suggested procedure.

Abstract

A new algorithm which minimizes the number of calibration measurements for a full two-port error correction of an Automatic Network Analyzer is presented. Since a reduced number of standard connections is required compared to that of other well known calibration techniques, the procedure allows saving time and standard elements. Experimental comparisons carried out with other calibration techniques also prove that a slight better accuracy can be reached using the suggested procedure.
