The role of stratospheric platforms in providing technological support for Earth observation and remote sensing applications was discussed. A system-level study of possible imaging payloads to be mounted on-board of a stratospheric platform to collect Earth observation data was presented. The analysis showed that the stratospheric technology was a competitive infrastructure (with respect to satellites) in the remote sensing scenarios.

Abstract
The role of stratospheric platforms in providing technological support for Earth observation and remote sensing applications was discussed. A system-level study of possible imaging payloads to be mounted on-board of a stratospheric platform to collect Earth observation data was presented. The analysis showed that the stratospheric technology was a competitive infrastructure (with respect to satellites) in the remote sensing scenarios.Pubblicazioni consigliate
