In this paper a novel architecture for code tracking loops in navigation receiver is introduced. Such a scheme is robust to the presence of multipath propagation, since it aims at separtely track the multipath components in order to cancel them from the input signal. The architecture has been named “Turbo Delay Lock Loop” being based on an iterative procedure boosting the tracking performance after a transient time. The paper theoretically describes the architecture and presents simulation results demonstrating the improved capabilities with respect to common DLL-based code loops.

Abstract

In this paper a novel architecture for code tracking loops in navigation receiver is introduced. Such a scheme is robust to the presence of multipath propagation, since it aims at separtely track the multipath components in order to cancel them from the input signal. The architecture has been named “Turbo Delay Lock Loop” being based on an iterative procedure boosting the tracking performance after a transient time. The paper theoretically describes the architecture and presents simulation results demonstrating the improved capabilities with respect to common DLL-based code loops.
