The first part of the paper describes the targets related to the design of an Active Roll Control (ARC) system, based on the hydraulic actuation of the anti-roll bars of an automobile. Then the basic static and dynamic design principles of the system are commented in detail. The second part of the paper presents the Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) test bench implemented to evaluate the designed system. In the end, the main experimental results are summarized and discussed, also from the point of view of the integration of ARC with Electronic Stability Program (ESP).

Abstract
The first part of the paper describes the targets related to the design of an Active Roll Control (ARC) system, based on the hydraulic actuation of the anti-roll bars of an automobile. Then the basic static and dynamic design principles of the system are commented in detail. The second part of the paper presents the Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) test bench implemented to evaluate the designed system. In the end, the main experimental results are summarized and discussed, also from the point of view of the integration of ARC with Electronic Stability Program (ESP).Pubblicazioni consigliate
