Le città della 167. Per una storia urbana dell’Italia contemporanea

This  volume  explores  the  relationship  between  cities  and  housing  policy,  taking  a close  look  at  the  implementation  of  the  Law  No.  167  of  18  April  1962,  whose  significance makes  it  a  useful  lens  through  which  to  examine  the  urban  history  of  contemporary Italy. The  articles  collected  in  this  issue  aim  to  highlight,  through  relevant  examples,  the implementation  of  the  167  law.  A  first  step  towards  a  more  extensive  and  comprehensive  study.  Such  research  appears  all  the  more  necessary  when  one  considers  that  the neighbourhoods   built   in   the   Law   167   areas   represent   a   significant   portion   of   Italy’s residential  landscapes  of  the  late  20th  century,  as  well  as  some  of  the  places  most  frequently identified  as  potential  targets  for  physical  or  social  regeneration  strategies.
