The author is utilising the Scenario Workshop technique to explore the future of urbanisation in China and comprehend its evolutionary trends. Developed in Europe during the 1990s, this technique involves addressing a topic with role-playing groups that represent real decision-makers in a forward-looking vision of a few years or decades. The goal is to converge the participants’ opinions on a convincing and shared vision of the future. The author’s ambitious goal is to conduct a Scenario Workshop alone, projecting himself into 2049 and empathising with different figures to explore a negative scenario first and then a positive scenario of urbanised China. Finally, the author will draw conclusions from the workshop
