LUNGO «LO SPLENDIDO CORPO D’ACQUA». LA CICLOVIA DEL CANALE CAVOUR

The Cavour Canal was the first great infrastructure built after the political unification of Italy. The Canal brings water from the Po River to the Ticino River, allowing the irrigation of the Padania plain. This research concerns the role of the Canal on multiple levels: the touristic development at the European scale of this territory; the improvement of the quality of the sustainable mobility system in the regions of Piedmont and Lombardy; the development of a ‘geographical architecture’.
