Narrating the local heritage of Valle d'Aosta: the media project|Narrare il patrimonio locale valdostano: il progetto MEDIA

Museum institutions represent a narrative tool that can foster a renewed relationship between the community, cultural heritage and the local area. The MEDIA (Advanced Multimedia Digital Emotional Museum) project fits into the field of local museum heritage enjoyment and is based on research aimed at investigating visitors' cognitive and emotional processes through physiological techniques, such as electroencephalography (EEG). Through the case study of the Museum of Valdostan Craftsmanship of Tradition (MAV), this paper explores the potential related to the use of immersive digital technologies, such as virtual reality (VR), to enhance emotional response to heritage and culture and increase user engagement.
