The construction sector, highly energy-intensive on a global scale, can however have great and positive potential in achieving the sustainability objectives signed by the states adhering to the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate. In addition to the essential national and supranational actions and strategies to be used to bring the construction sector back on the correct sustainability trajectory, it is necessary to identify which elements, materials, practices and design methods can be the most effective. This contribution explores some of these themes.
