Urbanism and architecture have always dealt, implicitly or explicitly, with bodies. The body is one of those hidden concepts that act as presuppositions of discourse: hidden in an analogy that cele-brates its perfection; in a principle of authority; in a desertion from the norm; in a pact that ex-changes docility and well-being. But urbanism and architecture have rarely brought this concept to light, made it the linchpin of a theoretical reflection within their own field of action and research. While the body is a resource for critical thinking and design practice. This is the hypothesis of the article that tries to explore a different perspective. Paying attention to the body in its constitutive links with space means looking at the architectural and urban planning project from other perspec-tives. From the point of view of the link between violence and mourning, for example, from the point of view of pain, loss, or on the contrary, of desire, aware of its transformative force, of its capacity to enrich life.
