In an ever-changing urban context, designers are faced with complex and interconnected design problems. The adoption of computational design technology and practices has transformed the design process, but there is also a need to explore critical approaches, such as “counter-computational practices”. These aim to overcome existing models by highlighting uncertainties and complexities through diagrammatic practices. The article analyses how such practices can offer meaningful alternatives, promoting an integrated view of the city and its dynamics, contributing to a more conscious design.

Abstract
In an ever-changing urban context, designers are faced with complex and interconnected design problems. The adoption of computational design technology and practices has transformed the design process, but there is also a need to explore critical approaches, such as “counter-computational practices”. These aim to overcome existing models by highlighting uncertainties and complexities through diagrammatic practices. The article analyses how such practices can offer meaningful alternatives, promoting an integrated view of the city and its dynamics, contributing to a more conscious design.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
