This paper explores the intersection of architectural practice, research, and education, focusing on challenges faced by architects in Northwestern Italy and the potential for internationalisation as a solution. The study examines the barriers preventing effective collaboration between academia and professional practice, particularly in Italy's rigid construction market, and contrasts this with models of architectural innovation in China. Drawing from Bruno Latour's framework of innovation, the research highlights the role of spatial proximity and global mobility in fostering knowledge exchange and professional development. The Polito Studio initiative, launched by Politecnico di Torino in partnership with the Torino Chamber of Architects, serves as a case study demonstrating a hybrid model that integrates academic research with real-world practice. By facilitating collaboration between emerging architects and international institutions, Polito Studio provides a replicable framework for architectural innovation, bridging the gap between education, research, and practice while enhancing global professional opportunities.

Abstract
By facilitating collaboration between emerging architects and international institutions, Polito Studio provides a replicable framework for architectural innovation, bridging the gap between education, research, and practice while enhancing global professional opportunities.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
