In the case of uterine absence, transplantation could thus be a possibility in the treatment of this type of infertility that is a cause of distress for some women. This type of transplant, in fact, is performed precisely for the purpose of alleviating the psychological harm caused by the absence of a uterus for a woman who wants to have children through a pregnancy of her own. For women born without a uterus, therefore, this type of transplantation may represent a real hope of successfully achieving a healthy and regular pregnancy. How ethically controversial is this medical practice? The permissibility of uterine transplantation will be the subject of this contribution.

Abstract
In the case of uterine absence, transplantation could thus be a possibility in the treatment of this type of infertility that is a cause of distress for some women. This type of transplant, in fact, is performed precisely for the purpose of alleviating the psychological harm caused by the absence of a uterus for a woman who wants to have children through a pregnancy of her own. For women born without a uterus, therefore, this type of transplantation may represent a real hope of successfully achieving a healthy and regular pregnancy. How ethically controversial is this medical practice? The permissibility of uterine transplantation will be the subject of this contribution.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
