This study investigates the remanufacturing processes of electronic control units (ECUs) used in agricultural machinery, focusing on the different processes and environmental performances. Three types of ECUs - engine control units, joysticks, and displays - were analyzed through disassembly, material characterization, and sustainability assessment. The environmental analysis, conducted following ISO 14064 and the GHG Protocol Product Standard, revealed that remanufacturing significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to producing new ECUs and allows the retention of most of their original components.

Abstract
This study investigates the remanufacturing processes of electronic control units (ECUs) used in agricultural machinery, focusing on the different processes and environmental performances. Three types of ECUs - engine control units, joysticks, and displays - were analyzed through disassembly, material characterization, and sustainability assessment. The environmental analysis, conducted following ISO 14064 and the GHG Protocol Product Standard, revealed that remanufacturing significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to producing new ECUs and allows the retention of most of their original components.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
