Abstract

Voltage inconsistency of cell in an energy storage battery pack seriously affects the safe and stable operation of the energy storage system. We propose an any cell to cell active equalization topology based on a three-winding transformer, which can realize the direct transfer of equalization energy between the highest voltage cell and the lowest voltage cell, with the advantages of fast equalization speed, high efficiency and low cost. Simulation models and small experimental circuit are built, and the simulation and experimental results show the advantages of the new topology in terms of equalization speed and efficiency as well as its feasibility in practical applications.
