The volume is part of an overall publication of four books focusing on the adaptiveness or incapacity of cities and regions to adapt to huge changes. This book includes a collection of papers exploring the intersections among strategies to adapt of change - with a special focus on disaster emergencies and crises - and cultural heritage. It also addresses aspects related to the re-elaboration of heritage during or after crises, and adaptations to new cultural developments intersecting with political, economic, social, and environmental aspects. The volume – with an introductory chapter by the editor – addresses it through a broad articulation of places, types of heritage, crises, and chronologies. The papers followed the process of double peer review.
