The article focuses on the process of digitizing and creating three-dimensional models of the mural paintings in the castle of Alcañiz, a unique Gothic ensemble in the Crown of Aragon. The digitization was carried out using convergent photogrammetry, a technique that overcomes the spatial and extension challenges posed by this ensemble. Three three-dimensional models have been generated, which are essential for the interpretation, preservation, research, dissemination, and education of cultural heritage. These models allow for in-depth study of the paintings, planning for future restorations, offering online cultural experiences, and increasing global accessibility to art. Challenges faced, suchas model management, the connection between geometric and historical-cultural description, the use of metadata and international standards, and accessibility for the public, are highlighted.

Abstract
Challenges faced, suchas model management, the connection between geometric and historical-cultural description, the use of metadata and international standards, and accessibility for the public, are highlighted.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
