The objective of this study is to investigate the curing ability of bio-oil derived from the pyrolysis of hemp hurd and to provide an assessment of the environmental impact of the new products compared to a commercial epoxy resin. Various amounts of bio-oil were used to partially replace the amine-based curing agent in the commercial epoxy resin designed for construction and lamination in the building sector. Analysis of the mechanical properties and wear resistance of the bio-resins was conducted. Additionally, a life cycle assessment was performed on the bio-resin production process and compared with the industrial production process. The analysis also considered the obtainment of hemp hurd, the bio-oil production, and the durability of the materials in terms of wear resistance.
