The recent media rediscovery of several women designers, journalists, and critics informs an in- vestigation of their public roles and perceptions. Besides exploring how they codified a broader understanding of design through their nuanced engagement in the disciplinary debate between the 1950s and 1970s, the paper questions how their public representation, open to increasingly wider audiences, nurtures a still relatively ambiguous mythopoesis.

Abstract
The recent media rediscovery of several women designers, journalists, and critics informs an in- vestigation of their public roles and perceptions. Besides exploring how they codified a broader understanding of design through their nuanced engagement in the disciplinary debate between the 1950s and 1970s, the paper questions how their public representation, open to increasingly wider audiences, nurtures a still relatively ambiguous mythopoesis.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
