Regeneration Strategies for Urban Center Restoration: A Case Study on Nanjing Xinjiekou

Since 2017, in order to promote high-quality urban development, the central government has proposed the "urban double repair" policy to further accelerate modern urban renewal. Taking "urban repair" as the guiding principle and relying on the competition project organized by the Chinese Architecture Society with the theme of "urban repair center area regeneration", the design team proposed a design plan for "Xinjiekou - core area heart bypass surgery renovation plan" for Xinjiekou in Nanjing, Jiangsu, with the aim of repairing the current problems in Xinjiekou in Nanjing. The article hopes to provide reference for other cities of the same type with the same or similar "symptoms" through this plan, in order to better promote the development of Xinjiekou in Nanjing and further play its role as a core commercial district, thus leading the urban and economic development of Nanjing.
