In the very first part of the chapter, an introductory part about why it is necessary to verify a digital circuit design is provided. Then, a general verification process is introduced, and some of the most important verification techniques are reported. The chapter also describes the testbench as a verification mechanism, and finally, it reports the concept of coverage metrics.
