Oltre la Strada is the regeneration project targeting via Milano, an important road connecting several historically industrial, working-class districts of Brescia to the historical city center. The re-configuration of car flows towards surrounding streets, as well as the implementation of bike lanes, are socio-spatially transforming the neighborhood. This paper argues that discourses surrounding the use of bike lanes have assumed the form-as stigmatizing narratives against vulnerable subjectivities living in the area. By ethnographically focusing on the infrastructuring processes of these bike lanes, this paper explores how these stigmatizing narratives are sharpening the gentrifying pressures already fostered by the regeneration.
