Abstract
It is rare to witness the birth of an art, the development of a more complex urban dimension, and the experimentation with a new architectural typology. The early 20th century represents an era capable of major innovations that include the cinema, the metropolis and the skyscraper as products of modernity. The co-presence of these elements is useful in generating representations of urban space that have been central since the birth of the seventh art. Indeed, the beginning of the century corresponds not only to the opening of a season in which the ways of experiencing the city and its layout changed radically, but also to the imagery that spread through visual culture.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
