Interazioni disciplinari nel processo di social design

Negli ultimi 50 anni i designer – ricercatori e practitioner - si sono interrogati sempre più intensamente sul loro ruolo al cospetto delle sfide della sostenibilità, della giustizia sociale, dell’inclusione, della coesione e dell’esigibilità dei diritti civili. Ma questo “social turn” non interessa solo un ampliamento e una complessificazione degli obiettivi di questo fare design. Cambiano le regole, i modi e le posture. Cambiano gli strumenti e le relazioni nei processi progettuali. Cambiano anche i risultati e gli impatti. In questa prospettiva, il contributo intende indagare i differenti attributi della locuzione “social design” con una specifica attenzione ai saperi esperti e diffusi implicati nel disegnare futuri prosperi per i cittadini, le comunità e i territori più fragili. Over the last 50 years, designers - researchers and practitioners - have increasingly questioned their role in addressing the challenges of sustainability, social justice, inclusion, cohesion and the demand for civil rights. However, this "social turn" does not only imply that the objectives of this design attitude are being broadened and complexified. Rules, modes and stances change. Tools and relationships in design processes are changing, as well as the results and impacts. In this perspective, the contribution aims to investigate the different attributes of the term "social design" with specific attention to the expert and widespread knowledge involved in designing prosperous futures for citizens, communities, and the most fragile territories.
