The essay is based on a research project focused on ecclesiastical cultural heritage, developed by the Responsible Risk Resilience Centre of the Politecnico di Torino, aimed at defining strategies for risk assessment, prevention, and territorial regeneration policies, about underused and decommissioned churches and religious complexes. The topic of religious heritage is particularly suitable for discussing the relationship between historic centers and cultural heritage, as it requires a transcalar reading linking "historic centers" with "historic territories” and landscapes, analyzing historical structural connections (the system of pievanies, parishes, religious orders, etc.) and networks of shared values (spirituality, devotion, etc.). A thematized historical periodization makes it possible to rediscover "historical centralities" among patrimonial palimpsests in the anonymous territories of the metropolitan periphery (and not only in “historical centres”), and to connect historical settlements of the rural territory with each other.

Abstract
A thematized historical periodization makes it possible to rediscover "historical centralities" among patrimonial palimpsests in the anonymous territories of the metropolitan periphery (and not only in “historical centres”), and to connect historical settlements of the rural territory with each other.Pubblicazioni consigliate
