Western Architecture seems obsessed with the myth of its own origins. Perhaps the reason for such an obsession lies in the artificial nature of architecture, a human product par excellence, originally the result of Adam and Eve’s stay in the Garden of Eden. Thus, from the Vitruvian explorations in the classical age to the architectural histories at the dawn of modernity, architects have started their discourse describing with great devotion what happened in the aftermath of the seventh day.

Abstract

Western Architecture seems obsessed with the myth of its own origins. Perhaps the reason for such an obsession lies in the artificial nature of architecture, a human product par excellence, originally the result of Adam and Eve’s stay in the Garden of Eden. Thus, from the Vitruvian explorations in the classical age to the architectural histories at the dawn of modernity, architects have started their discourse describing with great devotion what happened in the aftermath of the seventh day.
