Abstract
At the beginning of the 21st century a radical shift in the thinking and designing of public open spaces occurred. While urban landscapes are still considered instrumental in improving the quality of life in the city and continue to be perceived as catalysts of urban renewal, they are becoming multifunctional entities, whose aesthetic quality and role as a form of urban beautification is increasingly combined with the social and ecological performances they are able to deliver to respond to current and future global challenges. Through a reading of a variety of landscape architecture projects, the article explores spatial strategies designed to favor social cohesion.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
