The purpose of this paper is to provide a systematic procedure to be used in the engine air-path system identification to obtain a set of black-box models for control design. The number of linear models necessary to cover the entire engine map, the appropriate sampling frequency and the construction of the input signals are discussed. The engine air-path is treated as a three-input-two-output system where exhaust gas recirculation valve, variable geometry turbine and exhaust flap valve are the inputs and boost pressure and air mass flow rate are the outputs.

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to provide a systematic procedure to be used in the engine air-path system identification to obtain a set of black-box models for control design. The number of linear models necessary to cover the entire engine map, the appropriate sampling frequency and the construction of the input signals are discussed. The engine air-path is treated as a three-input-two-output system where exhaust gas recirculation valve, variable geometry turbine and exhaust flap valve are the inputs and boost pressure and air mass flow rate are the outputs.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
