Archivio Istituzionale della RicercaThe aim of this work is to present a new research area called “Meteorology applied to Sport” that can cooperate strictly with Geography applied to Sport for the development of multidisciplinary research in the Sport Industry. After a short analysis about the Sport Industry, two main sectors are analyzed by a meteorological and environmental point of views: Sport Tourism and Sport Event Management. In both of these sectors several case-studies are deeply analyzed to show how a correct awareness of meteorological and environmental risk in sport can help to manage this risk and to obtain better results.
