The human exposure to low frequency magnetic fields can be assessed through the simulation of the exposure quantities within the body. This is possible when the source is known and the right-hand-side of the solving system can be calculated in terms of magnetic vector potential. This paper proposes a method to identify the source term due to the magnetic field in low frequency exposure analysis directly from the magnetic flux density. This is particularly useful when only measurements are available or when the numerical formulation does not provide the magnetic vector potential.

Abstract

The human exposure to low frequency magnetic fields can be assessed through the simulation of the exposure quantities within the body. This is possible when the source is known and the right-hand-side of the solving system can be calculated in terms of magnetic vector potential. This paper proposes a method to identify the source term due to the magnetic field in low frequency exposure analysis directly from the magnetic flux density. This is particularly useful when only measurements are available or when the numerical formulation does not provide the magnetic vector potential.
