The article aims to focus on the most up-to-date techniques for the metric acquisition of 3D models of buildings and their subsequent reworking in the BIM environment. A procedure will be proposed for the digitalization of the entire collection of the new museum created by architect Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra using the techniques structure from motion (SFM), open source and low cost solutions. In particular, the SFM Photoscan and Phython Photogrammetry Toolbox programs will be used, comparing the advantages and disadvantages between the two techniques, for the processing of point clouds that will then be imported into the BIM environment and modeled for the 3D reconstruction of museum objects.
