Nowadays, ICTs play a key role for the development of AEC industry. In this field, the results achieved the IN- NOVance and the DIMMER projects marks a significant changein comparison with the traditional approach. The aim of these projects is to facilitate the data sharing among different system, via interoperability, in order to improve the data management and collaboration among disciplines. Starting from the necessity to make standard for data exchange, INNOVance and DIMMER projects work on an innovative approach based on a database management system (DBM) through the use of tools such as BIM, GIS, EAM, BMS, etc. At the base of these systems stands an informatics infrastructure, that joins heterogeneous databases between them through Representational State Transfer (REST) services. The standardization of the process passes through the set up of essential concepts based on different domains and LOD (as Level of Detail and Level of Development). Each domain defines an information system able to change in relation to the scale of visualization (at level of building, district, city, etc.). In this way, LODs are used in order to define the quantity of information visible for each domain depending on the scale of visualization. They are important to organize data and to obtain right information for each domain. Finally, both projects try to focus the attention on the data management and the importance to start from sharing library of objects in order to facilitate the data exchange and to reduce the loss of data.

Abstract
Finally, both projects try to focus the attention on the data management and the importance to start from sharing library of objects in order to facilitate the data exchange and to reduce the loss of data.Pubblicazioni consigliate
