Open data and right to be forgotten pertain to different realms. Nevertheless, after the ECJ decision on the Google Spain case, there is an increasing demand of transparency concerning the removal processes. In this light, open data strategies can assume relevance in order to improve the transparency of these processes and to make it possible an independent assessment of the power exercised by search engines in content removal.
