Abstract

In this study Ti3O5 sub-oxide was studied as alternative support for Pt electrocatalysts. Two types of Ti3O5 sub-oxide were produced by modifying commercial TiO2 with Nickel or Molybdenum as promoters of the suboxide. The resulting Ti3O5 was employed as support, depositing 20% Pt by polyol method using an aprotic solvent. The sub-oxide may not only improve corrosion resistance, but can also promote the catalytic activity and stability through a specific metal-support interaction.
