Selected results of AC loss tests from the recent (2014) campaign on the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak at ASIPP Hefei, China, are presented and discussed. The state-of-the-art thermal-hydraulic code 4C is then applied to deduce, from the available measurements, the coupling time constant nτ value for the CS conductor. It is found that nτ ∼ 30 ms could explain the experimental results. The computed evolution of temperatures and mass flow rates is compared with experimental data, validating the code in cases not used for its calibration.

Abstract
Selected results of AC loss tests from the recent (2014) campaign on the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak at ASIPP Hefei, China, are presented and discussed. The state-of-the-art thermal-hydraulic code 4C is then applied to deduce, from the available measurements, the coupling time constant nτ value for the CS conductor. It is found that nτ ∼ 30 ms could explain the experimental results. The computed evolution of temperatures and mass flow rates is compared with experimental data, validating the code in cases not used for its calibration.Pubblicazioni consigliate
