The effects of microstructure, hardness and corrosion resistance of metal dental alloys used for resin bonding on alloy industrial production and dental prosthesis were analyzed. Optical and electronic scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, image analysis, X-ray diffractometry and hardness measurements were used for structural analysis. Corrosion resistance and corrosive attack on alloy surfaces were analyzed with polarization and potentiodynamic tests respectively. The alloys under examination were found to be reliable with respect to hardness and corrosion resistance in prosthesis forming operations.
