Because of the biocompatibility, Nickel-Titanium (NiTi) has a potential application as orthopaedic, dental implant and other medical devices. In this work, the anodic treatment of NiTi was carried out in different concentration solutions. The base electrolytic used in this investigation, was in the 1 st part sodium silicate - sodium hydroxide and in the 2 nd part, sodium silicate - sodium borate with potassium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide solution. The anodization was carried out with a cell potentials in the range of 40 to 315V. SEM and EDS techniques were used to characterize the surface morphology of the samples. The results showed concomitant dissolution of the metallic surface and deposition of a silicate protecting film.

Abstract
The results showed concomitant dissolution of the metallic surface and deposition of a silicate protecting film.Pubblicazioni consigliate
