As a consequence of the decision to dismiss the four Italian nuclear power plants, Trino Vercellese NPP will be the first NPP dismantled in Italy. Apparently all the remaining NPP will follow a similar approach. Trino Vercellese decommissioning will be completed by the year 2013. The environmental impact of its decommissioning has been evaluated. The radioactive releases from the NPP are very small and it is indeed very difficult to determine the ‘critical group’, i.e. the most exposed individual (MEI). Committed doses to the MEI are extremely low and well below the reference levels defined by the Italian Agency for Environmental Protection.

Abstract
As a consequence of the decision to dismiss the four Italian nuclear power plants, Trino Vercellese NPP will be the first NPP dismantled in Italy. Apparently all the remaining NPP will follow a similar approach. Trino Vercellese decommissioning will be completed by the year 2013. The environmental impact of its decommissioning has been evaluated. The radioactive releases from the NPP are very small and it is indeed very difficult to determine the ‘critical group’, i.e. the most exposed individual (MEI). Committed doses to the MEI are extremely low and well below the reference levels defined by the Italian Agency for Environmental Protection.Pubblicazioni consigliate
