The computer code COBRA for the computation of the backscattering Radar Cross Section (RCS) of arbitrarily shaped metallic objects is presented. The scatterer surface is specified through a set of data points and interpolated by bicubic splines in parameter space and the scattered field is computed in the physical optics approximation. A numerical integration technique for triangular and rectangular parametric subdomains, based on an algorithm with error control, is described.
