A new anaytical method based on the convergence-confinement approach to the design of pretunnsl lining is presented The results obtained with the proposed model are compared with the results obtained with an FEM axisymmetric model, for the geometrical and geomechanical parameters of a real tunnel for a nsw Italian highspeed railway link currently under design.
